The OPC Foundation shows ways to a secure IoT at RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow 2017
How can companies guarantee secure machine-to-machine communication? How can business models be integrated directly into the cloud? At RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow, the OPC Foundation shows how industry 4.0 will become the “Internet of Everything”!
Connectivity, security, and IoT integration are key!
As a partner of RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow, the OPC Foundation supports the “Wireless IoT” forum on Developer Day, September 27. The main focus: connectivity, security – and the integration of processes and business models into IoT and cloud environments.
“The goal of the OPC Foundation is to create an industrial interoperability standard for horizontal and vertical integration, from sensors to enterprise software. The basis is the open communication standard OPC UA, which has been developed for industrial automation, but is now being employed across all vertical industries. OPC UA is the standard communication technology for the reference architecture of the industrial IoT.” - Stefan Hoppe, Vice President, OPC Foundation
Lecture in “Wireless IoT” forum: OPC UA makes the industry ready for the IoT
The lectures in forum 2, “Wireless IoT”, showcase that OPC UA is already a standard technology for connecting IoT and industry 4.0. Uwe Steinkrauß, Executive Director, Ascolab, will speak about the security and possibilities of OPC UA, as well as its open source approach: “OPC UA does not belong to any individual or corporation”, Steinkrauß clarifies.
Cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, SAP Hana, and the Siemens MindSphere are already using OPC UA to communicate with devices. Clemens Vasters, Messaging Architect, Microsoft Azure Service Bus and Event Hubs, Microsoft, wild hold a lecture entitled “Bringing Together IT And OT With OPC UA”. Companies using OPC UA can count on it to bridge the gap between information technology and operational technology.
Over 50 million OPC UA installations worldwide!
In 2017, OPC UA already counted more than 50 million live installations worldwide. The communication architecture has become the standard for the “Internet of Everything”. At the OPC Foundation's exposition booth at RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow, the experts will present the possibilities and benefits that OPC UA offers for the IoT of tomorrow.
