RFID & wireless technology for today's and tomorrow's IoT
Europe's largest event for RFID and wireless IoT technologies and applications continues its dynamic development in 2018. About 1000 participants, more than 70 exhibitors, and almost 90 speakers in 10 forums are expected to attend.
New in 2018: On October 30th and 31st, the doors to the RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow 2018 will open on one of the most modern science and convention centres in Europe – the darmstadtium – close by to Frankfurt Airport.
On top of that, unlike in previous years, the conference program this year starts on October 30th with the application-oriented User Day that is followed on October 31st by the technology-oriented Developer Day.
New Location: Science and Congress Centre Darmstadtium
The darmstadtium, located right in the city centre of Darmstadt and about 15 km from Frankfurt Airport, is at the centre of research and development not only in geographical terms. In close proximity to institute of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the University of Darmstadt, and the facilities of TU Darmstadt, a technological and scientific atmosphere is guaranteed. The concept of RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow – creating synergies and personal contacts at the interfaces between research, product development, and real-life applications – has the best possible environment at its disposal in Frankfurt/Darmstadt in the centre of Europe.
For the first time on the User Day: Automotive forum
Visit the automotive forum on the User Day, which is being held for the first time. The time to initiate a technology roll-out in an automotive company has never been better than now! There are no more obstacles in the way of comprehensive and cross-company deployment of RFID technology in component and container labelling thanks to detailed standardisation. With the VDA recommendations, the automotive sector – suppliers and OEMs – has literally all the building elements to realise processes and data transfer in the automotive supply-chain, manufacturing, and distribution across company borders.
Participants of the RFID & Wireless IoT tomorrow can learn in the newly-established automotive forum what opportunities IoT offers for the digitisation and sequencing of manufacturing and container management in the automotive industry.
Other forums on the User Day
Industry & Maintenance, Logistics & Supply Chain, Retail & Logistics, Healthcare, and Consumer IoT & Smart City are the five other specialist topics on the User Day. In their talks, users from these sectors share exclusive insights into how they beneficially use RFID and wireless IoT in their companies. Experiences gained by other companies help to prepare your own processes for the challenges and opportunities of digitisation's next steps. On the User Day, hear what real opportunities digital applications provide for the optimisation of processes and services.
New forum on the Developer Day specifically addressing cyber security
The Developer Day 2018 (October 31st) comes with an innovation. The newly-established forum on Digitisation & Cyber Security is an answer to the increasing importance and complexity of this topic. Digitisation and interlinking promise to bring great potential to companies, however this comes with security concerns. Every process of data capture, saving, and transfer is subject to potential cyber risks. This is why security measures should be implemented immediately when designing new processes to protect data integrity.
In the cyber security forum, specialists highlight how companies can construct a state-of-the-art security solution from economical, technological, and juridical perspectives.
Other forums on the Developer Day
In three other forums on the Developer Day: Technology & Hardware, System integration & Software as well as AIDC: Standardisation, Markets & Challenges, RFID specialists will talk about innovations and ideas from the world of RFID and wireless IoT. The Developer Day is aimed at technology companies and system integrators and invites them to discuss recent developments in technology, visions, and future challenges.
